Music composer, pianist and flutist
his new album "Mise à nu"available now.
Yann Crépin - Award winning flutist at the Conservatoire de Rennes, pianist and composer.
A brilliant student of Marie Jo Lamotte's flute class, Yann rubbed shoulders with the likes of Yann Tiersen, Yvan Cassar and Vanessa Wagner.
Destined for a solo career, Yann consistently picked up first prizes in competition and perfected his instrument with Ida Ribera, professor at the Conservatoire de Paris who then introduced him to famous concert artist Jean Pierre Rampal.
Yann Crépin was also noticed by the conductor Jean-François Paillard with whom he was introduced to the various chamber music ensembles.
After a concert that he attended at the TNB in Rennes, Yann discovered and fell in love with the compositions of pianist Didier Squiban.
It was after this concert that he decided, on a passionate impulse, to learn on his own to play piano!
The harp then became the center of his inspiration and listening: Kristen Noguès, Myrdhin and G.K.…
Alternating with precision between rhythmic and soft notes, Yann Crépin's piano playing transforms into a true dreamlike fable which carries us with calm and serenity into a phantasmagorical universe, worthy of a Miyazaki masterpiece.
Official music of Air France
"Mise à nu" is an album of original piano compositions, with a view to intimacy and refinement. The music, composed in the magic of the moment, reveals a contemplative sound of the soul. Truth and authenticity of feelings, vibrations transmit to the listener a sensation of well-being and immediate release. We allow ourselves to be lulled by the flow and the undertow of melodies sometimes tender, sometimes melancholic. This dreamlike universe is reminiscent of that of Ludovico Einaudi or Yann Tiersen ...
"On the breaking surf, the sound pens an image, a poem, something soft and tender that we remember ; then it sets off again and we remain cradled, in a dreamscape... In an instant, something from afar reminds us anew of Celtic lands, of a memory lost. Then a new thought, a fresh idea traces a silver thread on the monotone canvas and glides over time. Inscribed forever... Yann's music is a subtle wave drawing across secret depths that we unknowingly carry within ourselves."
